"MONE AND FRIEND "
|
| Mone has spent her life in the Ialibu region
in the Southern Highlands of Papua New Guinea.
Her family has grown up and she is left to care for and nurture a motherless
piglet.
Mone has carried many children, dug many gardens, woven many bilums (carrying
bags or material as worn on Mone's head), tended many fires and passed on
many stories.
She can laugh and has seen life in most of its basic forms.
Mone has seen the futility of wars, the innocence of children, the joy of
birth, the grief of death, the worry of sickness, the happiness of health.
Mone has seen it all - she can still laugh.
